My father in law flew in yesterday and will be staying with us for a couple of days while he attends a funeral. He is a really easy house guest... and I am glad to have him here. He hasn't made much of an effort to see us at all, so it is cool to kindof connect with him while he is here. We tried to walk home from dinner last night and we realized what bad shape he is in. He couldn't walk more than 2 blocks without having to stop.... and the pace was really slow. REALLY slow. Apparently, his arteries are blocked and he cramps up if he goes too fast. I ended up running home to get the car. He is diabetic, gives himself shots and has to sleep with a mask over his mouth so that he can breath during the night... he is hooked up to a machine. We all went to the dog park, which is totally fun. It was a beautiful night last night... so that was even more fun. I took the morning off from rowing to be around while he is here. (it was an optional practice)... and it was soooo nice to have a little more sleep this morning. SO nice. I took Wrigley for a LONG walk showered and got in to work an hour early. It was nice to have an easy morning not rushing around and being stressed. Really nice.
